Entrepreneurial Spirit Award
After migrating to the US from The Dominican Republic at the age of 13, Justo Garcia Cruz always wanted to make sure he didn’t forget his native culture. After struggling to find any good t-shirts that would truly represent his culture, he figured out a way do his own and tried to make a difference by making something unique. Justo soon started selling his T-shirts out of the trunk of his old van throughout the streets of Jamaica Plain and other neighborhoods in the city Boston. Today his brand strongly represent many Latino and Caribbean cultures with positive messages, promoting social awareness and at times with a sense of humor that it is sure to strike up a good conversation. Justo also holds a Marketing Director position at the Community Music Center of Boston.
