Make a Difference Award
Born in San Pedro de Macorís, República Dominicana. During his childhood, Hemenegildo Jr. migrated to the United States with his parents and his five other siblings. Hemenegildo has been a role model to many children through his involvement in youth outreach and violence prevention programs, he has been an inspiration to current and prospective students by pursuing his own education, and is today the proud founder and president of the Massachusetts Hispanic Law Enforcement Association (MHLEA). In 2004, Hemenegildo was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and is currently assigned as a patrol supervisor, for the uniform division, serving in the South Shore area of Massachusetts .
