Gov. Deval Patrick to attend the 2012 Access Awards

Boston, MA - The Honorable Deval L. Patrick, Governor of Massachusetts, has confirmed his attendance at the 5th Annual Boston Latino TV Access Awards on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Royale Nigthclub located at 279 Tremont St in Boston, MA.

Gov. Deval L. Patrick will address over 600 representatives of the most important Latino media outlets, professionals, business owners, and elected officials.

The Access Awards became the first Latino event ever to be attended by a Massachusetts Governor when the honorable Deval L. Patrick joined the celebration on May 28th of 2009 and proclaimed the “Latino Media Day” at the 2nd Annual Boston Latino TV Access Awards.

The Access Awards is the premium and most anticipated awards celebration of its kind in New England. The event recognizes leadership and success while providing a unique networking opportunity for the most influential individuals of New England's multicultural community.

Individuals and institutions that have used their influence, creativity, leadership, networks, passion, vision, spirit and talent for the advancement of the Latino community will be honored in the following categories:

•    Influential Leader Award: Jaime Rodriguez, President of the Puerto Rican Monument Square Association
•    Make A Difference Award: Madeleine Steczynski, Co-Founder and Executive Director of ZUMIX
•    Community Networking Award: Colette Phillips / Get Konnected!
•    Media Award: Sara Suarez, News Director at Univision Nueva Inglaterra
•    Visionary Award: ¿Oíste?
•    Entrepreneurial Spirit Award: Eric E. Liriano, Principal and Founder of Liriano Wealth Advisory Group, LLC
•    Artistic Expression Award: Grammy nominated bachata duo Monchy & Nathalia
•    Special Recognition: Alberto Vasallo, Jr., founder and publisher of El Mundo Newspaper

The awards will feature professional photography by Francisco Chacon and LuzPortfolio, and music by renowned DJ Juan Madrid. The entertainment lineup includes internationally known salsa singer Frankie Negron, Miami-based pop singing sensation Amara “La Negra”, Brazilian dance group SambaViva, and a special performance by this year’s awardees Monchy & Nathalia joined by dance group Essencia Latina.

Admission tickets are $35.00 and are sold exclusively online at www.AccessAwards2012.com. No tickets will be sold at the door the night of the event. Please note this is a 21+ event, ID required.

Members of the press who would like to cover the event will have access to the Media Room, where honorees and artists will be available there for interviews and photography immediately after they receive their award. Pre-approved media passes are required to gain access to this restricted area, and can be obtained by applying online at the media section of the Access Awards official website.
